How many gems is my gemstone worth?
Depends on the type and the size. A tiny topaz pays 3 gems, a huge diamond pays 900, with twenty-three values in between. Put your quantities into the gemstone calculator and it totals the lot, or read the gemstone value guide for the full table and the pattern behind it.
How many gems is my fish worth?
Species and size again. Cheapest fish in the game is a tiny dumb fish at 5 gems, the best is a huge crab at 9,600. The fish calculator covers all twelve species in all five sizes, and the fish value guide explains how the pricing works.
What is the difference between mgems and fgems?
Nothing, once they're in your account. They're the same currency. The labels just say where they came from. Mgems are mine gems, from selling gemstones out of the Pixel Mines. Fgems are fish gems, from selling fish. Traders separate them because the source changes what people will offer, not because the gems themselves differ.
How many gems is one byte coin?
There's no fixed answer, and anyone who gives you one is quoting a snapshot. Players agree the rate between themselves and it drifts over time. That's why both calculators let you type it in instead of hard-coding one. Find out the going rate, enter it, and the calculator handles the division.
Why does the byte coin total round down?
Because you can't hold part of a byte coin. The calculator divides your total by the rate and drops the remainder, which is what happens when you actually trade. At 10 gems per coin, 3,664 gems gives 366 coins with 4 gems stranded, not 366.4 coins. Higher rates strand more, so small hauls suffer most. Convert in bigger batches if you can.
Where do gemstones come from?
Mining in the Pixel Mines. You need a pickaxe and the Mining Gear NPC inside the mines gives one out free. You then sell your stones to the gemstone buy bot, also in the mines, which pays in gems based on the type and size of each stone.
Are the values on this site up to date?
Last verified on 22 September 2026, and that date sits on every page that depends on them. Pixel Worlds relaunched in March 2026 under Social First with its economy reset, so it's a fair thing to ask of any fan site. If a value stops matching what the game pays you, tell us. A correction from somebody who just got back from the mines is the most useful message this site can get.
Why do goldfish, butterflyfish and dumb fish break the pricing pattern?
Because the game prices them that way. Nine of the twelve follow a clean ladder of tiny value × {1, 4, 7, 10, 30}. Goldfish and butterflyfish pay 600 for a huge instead of the 450 the ladder predicts, and dumb fish follows nothing at all. We've checked, and they aren't transcription errors. The calculator carries a test pinning those three rows so nobody later "fixes" them.
Does the calculator save my numbers?
Yes, in your own browser, using localStorage. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else and there's no account involved. Come back later on the same device and browser and your quantities are still there. The two calculators save separately, so filling in one doesn't disturb the other. Hit Reset, or clear this site's data in your browser, to wipe them.
Can I share a calculation with someone?
Yes. Both calculators write your quantities into the address bar as you type, and Copy share link puts that URL on your clipboard. Whoever opens it sees the numbers you're looking at, including your byte coin rate if you changed it. A shared link beats the recipient's own saved numbers, so they see yours and not theirs.
Can I enter half a gemstone?
No, whole numbers only. Type a decimal and the field says so instead of quietly rounding it. An older version of this calculator accepted 2.5 and produced a misleading total off the back of it. Refusing the input is better than pretending.
Is this an official Pixel Worlds site?
No. It's an independent fan project, not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Social First or Kukouri Mobile Entertainment. Pixel Worlds and all related trademarks and assets belong to their respective owners. The disclaimer has the full statement.
Does the calculator work without JavaScript?
Partly. The prices are written into the page itself, so you can still read what everything is worth with scripting off. The running totals need JavaScript, and the page tells you so instead of just looking broken.
Which is worth more, mining or fishing?
We don't answer that, because doing it properly needs figures we don't have: how often each item turns up and how long a run takes. What we can tell you is what each item is worth once it's in your inventory, and there fish win at the top end. A huge crab pays 9,600 gems against 900 for a huge diamond. That's a statement about value, not about which is the better use of your evening.
