About this calculator

The Pixel Worlds Gemstone Calculator is a free tool that answers one question quickly and accurately: how many gems is this pile of gemstones worth? You type in how many of each gemstone you have, and it totals the value for you.

Why it exists

Mining in Pixel Worlds produces gemstones in five types and five sizes — twenty-five different items, each worth a different number of gems. After a decent run through the Pixel Mines your inventory is a mess of tiny topaz and the odd huge diamond, and working out what the pile is actually worth means twenty-five separate multiplications.

Doing that by hand is tedious and easy to get wrong, especially when you are trying to decide whether a trade someone just offered you is fair. This tool does the arithmetic so you can get back to playing.

It started as a small personal project in 2021 and has been quietly maintained since. It is not a business. There is no account to make, nothing to buy, and nothing to install.

How it works

Gemstones are obtained by mining in the Pixel Mines, and can be exchanged for gems at the gemstone buy bot found there. The rate depends on both the type of the gemstone and its size. The calculator holds a table of those rates and applies it to the quantities you enter. Fish work the same way, which is why there is a fish calculator alongside the gemstone one.

You will see two bits of trade shorthand used around the game and on this site: mgems are gems earned from mining, fgems are gems earned from fishing. They are the same currency; the labels just say where they came from, which matters when people trade them for byte coins.

The arithmetic itself is deliberately simple — each quantity is multiplied by that gemstone’s value and the results are added up. There is no hidden fudge factor and no rounding until the very end. The calculator page shows a step-by-step breakdown of exactly how it reached the number it gives you, so you never have to take it on trust.

How the numbers are kept honest

This is the part that matters most, so it is worth being blunt about it.

Game economies change. Values get adjusted in updates, and a number that was right last year may be wrong today. A fan tool that quietly serves stale numbers is worse than no tool at all, because people trust it.

So every figure on this site that depends on the game’s economy carries a “last verified” date. That date tells you when the value was last checked, so you can judge for yourself whether to trust it or go and confirm it in game. When values change, the change is recorded rather than silently swapped in.

If you spot a value that no longer matches what the game gives you, please tell us. A correction from someone who just came back from the mines is the most valuable thing this site can receive.

Your data

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The quantities you type are saved on your own device so they are still there next time, and they are never sent to us or to anyone else. There is no account and no tracking of what you calculate. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
